Madera Hong Kong, the latest development of Hip Shing Hong Group of Companies (“HSH”) located in the hidden gem district – Jordan, today celebrated its grand opening. The Grand Opening Ceremony was officiated by Mr. Shen Chong, Director General of Coordination Department, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR; Mr. Gregory So, JP, Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development, the Hong Kong SAR Government; Mr. Juan Manuel Lopez Nadal, Consul General of Spain; Mr. Patrick Kwok, General Manager of Business Development, Hong Kong Tourism Board; Dr. Henry Fong, SBS, DBA, JP, Chairman of HSH; Mr. David Fong, BBS, JP, Managing Director of Group and Madera Hong Kong. Over 100 distinguished business leaders and guests graced the Grand Opening of the Hotel.
HSH, founded in 1948, is an astute property developer and investor based in Hong Kong. HSH is dedicated to offer top quality premises for lease with excellent customer services. HSH owns and operates over two million square feet of a well-diversified property portfolio including offices, retail, residential, serviced apartments, hotel, industrial and car parks in prime locations. It has long been HSH’s fine tradition to adhere to the principle of corporate social responsibility with special devotion to education, science and medical development in HK, China and overseas.
Mr. David Fong, Managing Director of Group and Madera Hong Kong, said, “There is no better place and time than now to operate a hotel. The Central People’s Government and Hong Kong SAR Government have policies in staunch support of the tourism and the hospitality industry development. Last year, this Asia’s World City witnessed a record of 42 million visitors. Therefore, we have no reason for not grasping this golden opportunity.”
Madera Hong Kong is the first boutique hotel in Jordan, seasoned with 88 guest-rooms, as well as an array of business and leisure facilities in a chic and friendly style. Madera Hong Kong is set to become a modern and young icon with contemporary Spanish architecture style. In order to synergize the business development of its hospitality portfolio of HSH, our serviced apartment, Excellent Court was re-branded as Madera Residences on January 1, 2012.
Corporate social responsibility has always been one of the key values of HSH. Sparkling harp performance by a group of 12 less privileged children under 10 of the F.S.F.T. Fong Shu Chuen Primary School was followed by the gifting of a harp to each child by the officiating guests allowing them to continue their interest in such a beautiful musical instrument. Hotel Madera will select 4 NGOs to donate to each year and its first donation went to the Children Cancer’s Foundation at the ceremony.
